So, I've been reading a magazine ( sorry, you have to guess it yourself, but I think you guys are already know about it. it's due to regulation ). It tears me up when I read an article about animal trading.
There's a lot of pictures there and I saw this market in Indonesia.
You know what ? Indonesia is my country and I guess I'm kinda surprised when I read the article.
Sure, I've read these issues before through internet, campaign pamphlets and also I watched TV ( since all I watched were D, NG, AP, etc a few ). But actually I've found that it breaks my heart to see animal illegal trading and most of the importer is Indonesia.
Indonesia has a lot of resources. A lot of trees, lands, wild animals ( even the human resources, duh ), yet I only know a little about my country T_T. I didn't know that these kinds of illegal tradings are spreading in Indonesia ~!
This market, you see, I've been there once before when my university held a festival and the committee asked my to buy something there. I've seen a lot of animals there, they were for sale. I think it was normal because I've almost seeing it very often on the streets. Sure, I was fascinated. Those animals were cute, fluffy and they were for sale too. And then it that article, I saw the very same pedagang kaki lima that I've been to. It was a shocked that those fluffy and cute animals were .... illegal.
The photographer took a photo of an owl in its cage. The owl's eyes were so sad, in my eyes it said " please let me get out of this cage " ugh... if I was a police who investigated these kinds of illegal tradings, I would take the owl and return it to its habitat.
Well, I love animals, I had rabbits before, but it's pet. but OWL as a PET ?! it's wild animal, dude.
Ah, and it shocked me too that the biggest demand import is from this 'country' ( sorry, won't reveal due to tight information regulation xD entar pencemaran nama baik, gw takut.. ). oh okay, so that country's industries are everything but oh oh, they has the biggest demand of animal trading. so shocking !!
another issue ( actually linked, so yeah, duh ...) is shark trading. I heard that in some countries, sharks trading is not allowed. When I watched about in TV, I was so shocked that those sharks were caught, they ripped their fins while the sharks were still alive and then THREW IT BACK TO THE SEA. are you crazy ? SHARKS ARE LIVING CREATURES, NOT SOME TRASHES. they were like human too, ALIVE. why can't people treat living things like treating human being ? It's so sad if i remember about those sharks, dead, in the sea with no fins. If there are hells and heavens for animals I pray for them so they can be in heavens. Okay, so i've been told that shark's fins are for delicacies. Shark fins soup are so famous because they were delicious ( I haven't eaten them yet and I don't want to eat them ). WHY oh WHY ???. Why sharks ? they are rare, nearly in its extinction. why would you eat extinct animals ? because they are delicious ? imagine if human in its extinction, would you eat them ? nowadays people are so greedy, huh ? ( so do I, duh ).
Well, the government's already make regulations about this trading, so why people keep doing the illegal thing ?. okay so 'regulations are made to break' but killing wild and rare animals, doing illegal trading, they are so wrong, people. Do you know what kind of sins you made ? (okay, here let's not talk about me being clean from sins). It's as if you killed human too because they are living. Do you have to kill a tiger, rhinos, freshwater turtles, yak, elephants for statues or their horns ? what for ?? they are more beautiful living in real life than seeing them dead like statues in your home. and they are so expensive too. they were sold because of their values, but they are dead. so why don't pay thousand dollars ( or whatever currencies i don't even care ) to watch them alive in their habitats ? why don't hire a photographer to take their photos, make them as posters, glued them on every inches of your houses ?.
